To clear the center of the garage so you can walk through it, sort everything in the garage into four piles:
Trash — any item in your garage that you have not used in years and that does not hold any useful or worthy sentimental value. And if it’s broken, most definitely trash it. You will not fix it later
Charity donations — items that aren’t broken but are in too good of shape to trash and can be used by someone else
Items belonging elsewhere — return items belonging elsewhere to your interior rooms or to the person from whom you borrowed them
